Can you give Nozoil® to children?

Yes, you can use the Nozoil® Original for children. Both adults and children all over the world appreciate the soothing effect of Nozoil® . It is not advisable however to use the Nozoil® Menthol for children under 12 years of age.

I am receiving oxygen treatment. Can I use Nozoil® in conjunction with oxygen?

Yes, you can use Nozoil® while on oxygen treatment.

Is it possible to overdose on Nozoil® – in other words, use too much oil?

No, it is not possible to overdose in the sense of using so much Nozoil® that it causes discomfort or poisoning. The amount of sesame seed oil contained in a bottle of Nozoil® is not considered to result in adverse effects. The recommendation is to spray 1 to 3 sprays in each nostril three times daily when required. Swallowing Nozoil® is also not considered to result in any adverse effects as sesame seed oil is used as a food ingredient.

What else can I do to improve nasal dryness?

Humidify the air around you with the aid of a humidifier and drink sufficient amounts of water.

Can Nozoil® be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

There are no known risks. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding your baby while using Nozoil® , please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional for advice.

Are there any special precautions when using Nozoil®?

Do not use Nozoil® if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to sesame seed oil or sesame seeds.

For how long should you use Nozoil® ?

You can continue using Nozoil® until you notice an appreciable improvement in your symptoms. You can always start using it again if you notice that your symptoms have returned, due to a dry climate or due to your use of medications which can result in nasal dryness (as an unwanted side effect).

Can Nozoil® be used in combination with other nasal sprays?

Nozoil® can be used in combination with sea water nasal sprays, decongestant nasal sprays and nasally administered allergy or steroid medicines.

Can Nozoil® assist with nosebleeds?

Nosebleeds can be caused by excessive nasal dryness. Nozoil® can be used to ease nasal dryness and crusting and can therefore help reduce the frequency of nosebleeds that are caused by nasal dryness. It is important to note that nosebleeds can be caused by factors other than nasal dryness. If you experience repeated, frequent nosebleeds or are taking any blood-thinning medications please consult a healthcare professional.

When should you consult a doctor about nasal dryness and crusting?

You should consult a doctor or other healthcare professional if your symptoms of nasal dryness and itchiness do not improve following the use of Nozoil®.
